Overview
Empaths combine Telepathy — perceiving and projecting into living minds — with Mediumship — perceiving and communicating with the dead. What unites these is listening: the Empath hears things never meant to be heard, from beings both present and absent, living and dead. The gift does not discriminate. Neither do the voices.

Masking Practice
Empaths typically mask as Ossian or Augur Sorcerers — carrying ritual components associated with spirit communication and performing visible contact rituals before relaying received information.
Abilities
Choose one option at each level as you advance. The choice at each level is permanent.
●○○○○ Level 1 — Choose One
Option A — Emotional Read: Passively sense the dominant emotion of any nearby person or spirit. Always active. +2 dice on Empathy rolls.
Option B — Dead Sense: Passively detect the presence of Ghosts and Wraiths nearby. Always active.
●●○○○ Level 2 — Choose One
Option A — Surface Thoughts: Focus on one person for a turn and receive their active surface thoughts. Roll Perception + Empathy (diff 6).
Option B — Spirit Communication: Speak directly with any Ghost or Wraith in range. Roll Perception + Occult (diff 6).
●●●○○ Level 3 — Choose One (1 Willpower)
Option A — Thought Projection: Project a thought, image, or message into a target's mind. Doesn't compel action. Roll Manipulation + Empathy (diff 7) vs. target's Willpower.
Option B — Full Mediumship: Enter genuine two-way communication with a specific dead person. Roll Charisma + Occult (diff 7).

Option A — Deep Read: Access memories, beliefs, and genuine intentions of a target. They may sense intrusion (Willpower diff 8). Roll Perception + Empathy (diff 8).
Option B — Channel: Allow a willing spirit to speak through the Empath's own voice for the scene.

Option A — Mind Touch: Plant a belief or memory that feels completely authentic and permanent. Roll Manipulation + Empathy (diff 9) vs. target's Willpower.
Option B — Summon the Dead: Call a specific dead person and compel their presence for the scene. Roll vs. target's Willpower (diff 9).
