The Sim

Two frequencies. Two ways in. Both lead to the same city.

Before You Land

You've hopefully already read the Welcome page, the Mature Content Warning, and the Rules of Engagement. If not, do that first — it's five minutes, and it'll make everything below make more sense.

Your First Steps

1. Join the Discord. This is the real front door. Introduce yourself in the welcome channel — staff and Mentors are there and will reach out.

2. Get matched with a Mentor. Every new player is paired with a Mentor who helps you build your first character, walks you through the Character Creation Guide, and answers the questions that are easier to ask a person than a wiki.

3. Build your character. Choose your splat, choose your subtype, write your background. Your Mentor reviews it before it goes to Admin for final approval — most characters clear this in a few days.

4. Land in Basilica Purgatory. Once your character's approved, you'll get your character tag, a faction introduction if you want one, and a starting scene from your Mentor to ease you in.

What to Expect on Arrival

Second Life sims can be disorienting the first time you land, especially in a build as dense and atmospheric as Basilica Purgatory. A few practical notes:

  • Give your viewer a minute to fully rez the region before wandering — the Undercity in particular is texture-heavy.
  • The landing point has signage pointing toward key locations: faction headquarters, the Overcity plaza, and the new-player orientation area.
  • If you land and don't see another soul around, that's normal — check Discord for who's currently in-world and looking for scenes.

Still Have Questions?

That's what the Discord is for. Staff and Mentors are far faster to reach there than through any form on this site — jump in, say hello, and someone will point you in the right direction.

The night is long. The city endures. Come find your place in it.
