Werewolf
The Restored — Warriors of Eshtarra the Younger
When Gaia died, the Garou and their Kinfolk became literal animals for a decade. When Eshtarra the Younger rose to take Gaia's place, she remade them — restored their minds, their forms, and their purpose. The Garou who survived that decade carry it in their bones. It changed them.
In-world, characters may call themselves Werewolf or Garou interchangeably. Eshtarra's Restoration changed several fundamental realities of Garou life: Metis are no longer born cursed — they're fully accepted members of their tribes. Lupus-born Garou are exceptionally rare and treated with reverence. The old tribal politics have simplified into six surviving tribes.
The Six Surviving Tribes
| Tribe | Nature |
|---|---|
| Black Furies | All-gender warriors devoted to Eshtarra's sacred places and the protection of the vulnerable. Fierce, disciplined, uncompromising. |
| Fianna | Storytellers, warriors, and keepers of memory — preserved more pre-End oral history than any other tribe. |
| Get of Fenris | Warriors of brutal excellence. Most likely to be found on the Basilica's walls. |
| Glass Walkers | Urban survivors and tech-integrators — adapted most naturally to life inside a Basilica, including cautious cooperation with the God Machine Guild. |
| Silent Striders | Wanderers and messengers who travel between Basilicas, bringing news and connection to a world that has little of either. |
| Children of Eshtarra | Formerly Children of Gaia, renamed in honor of the sacrifice that remade the world. Mediators, healers, the spiritual heart of the Garou nation. |
Universal Strengths
- The Forms — All Garou access five forms: Homid, Glabro, Crinos (war form), Hispo (dire-wolf), and Wildborn (wolf). Shifting costs 1 Rage or is free with a Stamina + Primal-Urge roll (difficulty 6). Crinos is the most powerful and the most dangerous to the Veil.
- Regeneration — Heal Bashing damage at 1 level per turn automatically.
- Gift Paths start at Level 1 in Breed, Tribe, and Auspice automatically, at no cost.
The Obsidian Bane
Eshtarra's Restoration changed the Garou's supernatural vulnerability from silver to obsidian. Silver has no special effect on Garou in this setting — any source material referencing silver vulnerability doesn't apply here.
House Rules
- Metis characters are fully accepted and carry no social stigma. The old deformity rules are removed.
- Lupus-born characters require Mentor approval due to their rarity and are treated as spiritually significant.
- The Umbra and Gauntlet exist but are damaged — stepping sideways requires a Storyteller present.
- Kinfolk are listed under Human — Half-Damned, not as a Garou subtype.
