Who They Are

The Silent Striders have always been travelers — the Garou who move between communities, carrying news and maintaining the connections that keep the Nation from fragmenting. In a post-Sundering world of fifteen isolated Basilicas separated by hundreds of miles of lethal wilderness, that role is indispensable. They know the roads between Basilicas the way other Garou know home territory: which stretches carry the worst Wyrd corruption, where spirit paths remain, which Neobedouin caravans are safe to travel with. They bring letters, intelligence, and occasionally people, and ask nothing in return but passage and a meal.

Silent Strider Tribe Gift Path

●●○○○ Sense the Dead (Passive) — passively senses ghosts, Wraiths, and spiritual residue nearby, useful for reading where the dead have gathered on the roads between Basilicas.

●●●○○ Silence (1 Gnosis, diff 5) — the Strider and up to three companions move in complete silence for one scene; communications during this time can't be electronically overheard.

●●●●○ The Unseen Pass (2 Gnosis, diff 7) — passes through a guarded location leaving no evidence of passage — no records, scent trail, or footage — for one specific entry, traversal, and exit.

●●●●● Reach the Umbra (3 Gnosis, diff 7) — steps sideways even where the Gauntlet would normally prevent it, bringing up to two companions. ST involvement still recommended given the Gauntlet's damaged state.

Immune to disorientation and exhaustion from extended wilderness travel; never lost by mundane means; always know roughly how far they are from the nearest Basilica. Free Waystone Background dot. Ghosts and Wraiths are persistently drawn to Silent Striders. Staying in one place more than a week accumulates ghostly hangers-on others may begin to notice. Cannot be suppressed without active effort.
