Welcome

The Sim

Welcome to Requiem by Night.

This is a collaborative roleplay experience set within the World of Darkness — a homebrew setting built from the 20th Anniversary editions of the classic game lines, woven together into something entirely our own. We are glad you found us.

Requiem by Night takes place in the year 200 TE — 2278 CE by the old calendar — two centuries after the catastrophic events that reshaped the world and nearly ended it entirely. You find yourself in Basilica Purgatory: a city-state built upon the sunken ruins of what was once San Francisco, surrounded by walls that keep the worst of the broken world at bay. To the northwest, across the fog-shrouded strait, lies the Isle of Purgatory — a place where the wealthy and the lucky come to see the wild world beyond the walls without being consumed by it.

Make no mistake, though. There is no truly safe place left in all the world. There are simply places that hide the darkness better.

Inside these walls, you will find vampires who chose rebirth over oblivion, werewolves remade by a new goddess, the fae-touched navigating a Dreaming that will not stop bleeding into reality, sorcerers whose magic comes from pacts rather than power, hunters who protect the secret of what lives among the human population, and ordinary people trying to build something worth living for in the aftermath of everything.

This is not a game about winning. It is a game about surviving — and about what surviving costs, and what it makes you.

We are currently in soft open, with parts of the sim and website still under construction. Please forgive our dust as we work toward grand opening. We are building this world with care, and we are glad you are here to be part of it.
