Who They Are

Redeemers carry something the other Hunters do not: personal knowledge of what it means to be on the wrong side of a line you cannot uncross. They've made serious mistakes and chosen to spend the rest of their life making it right — not because the math works out, but because it's what they have to do. Redeemers are not defined by their failure, but by what they do after it — and they often work in the spaces where the supernatural and human communities most need someone who can speak both languages.

●○○○○ Empathic Read — senses genuine remorse and desire for redemption; cannot be fooled by performance. Passive. Soothing Presence — beings entering frenzy/rage nearby get an additional control roll at -1 difficulty. Passive.
●●○○○ Offer the Path — a genuine offer to step back from mandate-violating behavior; if accepted, both gain resources. Healing Touch — heals 1 Lethal level on another through a minute of sustained contact. Cannot self-target.
●●●○○ Lift the Weight — helps process guilt/trauma; target recovers 1 Willpower, Shadow/Frenzy risk drops 1 for the scene. True Sight — perceives a being's genuine moral condition — capable of change, choosing harm, or seeking better. Cannot be faked against.
●●●●○ The Bridge (2 Conv) — establishes a valid redemptive pathway that removes one consequence of a past transgression if completed. Cleanse (2 Conv) — removes mild supernatural contamination (early Corruption, early Bond, minor taint). Roll Willpower + Empathy (diff 8).
●●●●● Full Redemption (3 Conv) — a witnessed act formally strikes a being's worst transgression from the God-Machine's record. Once per being, ever. Carry the Weight (3 Conv) — takes on another's spiritual consequence, releasing the original transgressor; the Hunter must address it themselves.
